This sale is like February 29th, it won’t last, so HURRY up!
Make sure to check out the MyMemories Facebook and Blog for even more Leap Year FUN, EVENTS, and SALES!!
A leap year tradition began in Scotland when Queen Margaret declared in 1288 that on February 29 a woman had the right to pop the question to any man she fancied. Menfolk who refused were faced with a fine in the form of a kiss, a silk dress, or a pair of gloves given to the rejected lady fair.
Ambie here with your Tuesday Tidbits, Or as I am calling it today your Tuesday Tutorial! I am going to show you how to make a stitched border
First things first go here and download the stiching brushes and install them into photoshop. Once you have installed brushes
Select Brush 47 and make it size 18.
Step One Open up your Photoshop, Open New and Make your size 850 by 315 (also the dimensions for Facebook cover photos)
Step Two Select your Paint bucket tool and select a color you want to make your background. I am going to Choose Green (feel free to choose any color you like)
Pour into your opened work area, Next create a new layer (blank layer do NOT duplicate the one already open) after doing this select another color in your color panel to use later ( I chose Hot Pink)
Step Three hit ctrl then click onto your green layer( make sure to click on the green area not the words) This will select your area another option is to make sure you are on your colored layer, and go to your tools at the top and click select then select all.
Next Step Four we go to Select, Contract (I did 20) then OK.
Now on your layer panel select the blank layer; hit the P on your keyboard to select your Pen tool. In your layer panel you can change from layers, channels and paths. I want you to select Path.
Now that we have made a working path I want you to Right click, Stroke Path, It is going to bring up another window, click the drop Arrow and select Brush and make sure that Stimulate Pressure is UN-checked then hit Okay. Click on the Path layer if already not selected and hit Ctrl+H which will hide the path layer or you can delete it. Now you will see your stitch.
Now this looks a little boring right? So we are going to add a drop shadow
I made my numbers 2,9 and 6 which made a decent drop shadow then i bevel and embossed. Style Emboss Technique Smooth Depth 15 direction Up, Size 4 Soften 0
I hope my tutorial was easy to follow and you can all make your own stitched boarders now
Hello Everyone, Christie here bringing you today’s Monday’ Meal!
Friday is Dr. Seuss’ birthday and we are celebrating it all week at school with Read Across America.
My mom always made me green eggs and ham, but my boys don’t eat eggs. Such a shame. So, I searched all over Pinterest looking for treats I could share with my boys and honor Dr. Seuss’ birthday. He is by far our favorite author.
I found this Green Eggs recipe at Random Thoughts of a Supermom
I also found a recipe for One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish at Simple Girl
Then I found these great Thing 1 cupcakes at Bump Smitten
Our favorite Dr. Seuss book to read is The Cat In The Hat. We also have the movie and will watch it throughout the week. I have most of our Dr. Seuss books out so we can read them this week also. The boys have to dress up on Friday as their favorite character from the Dr. Seuss books and I am trying to make them costumes so they can be Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Hello! Welcome to the Divine Digital Glamour Town Blog Hop! Are you going to be watching the Oscars tonight? It’s always interesting isn’t it? It’s almost as big of a deal to see what (and who) the stars are wearing, as much as who wins the coveted awards! I guess that’s part of what the whole “Tinsel Town Glamour” is all about, that ineffable “star quality” we are all drawn to!
While you’re watching the Oscars you might want to keep score – did you predict the winners? Or maybe you want to go all out and host your own Oscar Party! If you head over to the official 84th Academy Awards website – you can print out an award ballot, and they even have printable party invites and Oscar party tips! How fun is that! In the meantime, here’s a little mini kit for you . . . just a little smidgen of “Tinsel Town Glamour” for you to scrap your stars with! Make sure you stop by all the Divine Digital Blog Hop sites to pick up the other parts of this fun kit! I’d love to see your layouts posted in the Divine Gallery or share them on Sugar Moon’s Facebook Page!
LINK HAS EXPIRED, THANK YOU
KIT WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE
Have fun tonight and if you get lost on the blog train, here’s a list of the other wonderful designers who are participating!

Enjoy & Happy Scrapping!
Hi, my name is Dawn from Dawns Delights (Blog) and a new blog team member of Scrappingartistry. Today I wanted to highlight a beautiful kit from MissyBits store at My Memories called Simple Pleasures. When I saw this amazing kit, the photos of my blue eye son came to mind. Even though he is no longer the little guy in these photos, he still has beautiful blue eyes. And this kit was a perfect match for scrapbooking these photos. The simple moments when he would peek over the bassinet.
I had used the tools in Paint.net to layer the photos and erase the dark colors bringing the bright colors of the photos. Paint.net is a free program if you are starting out and perfect to learn on.
Good evening friends, Kara here bringing you some news. We had our CT call last week and we had a great amount of applicants, I wish we could have filled all of the spots, but we just couldn’t. We added 3 new CT members and 2 new blog members. So please help me in welcoming the ladies to our team.
Hi, there all of you readers in Blog Land. My name is Melissa, and I am a new blogger for www.creativeartistry.com. You can eagerly await my posts every Thursday when I will be bringing you tips, trends, tutorials, and even a speed scrap or two. To start, my muse and I would like to send you a little digital inspiration. I don’t know how many of you have viewed your own Facebook profiles or read the feeds of your many friends lately, but www.pinterest.com seems to be the next “Big Thing” when it comes to the world wide web. I have had my own Pinterest page for several months now, but recently, I am finding that all types of companies (even digital scrapbook artists) are using Pinterest as a way of publicizing their own materials, coordinating ideas and color swatches, and determining how many “likes” each “pin” may have before coming out with new products. Unfortunately, not all of us are designers, but I have decided that all of us have a use for www.pinterest.com.
So you may be asking, “Melissa, what does this mean for me?” Well, I will tell you: if you are anything like I am, you probably have Vision Boards, Creativity Shrines, French Memo Boards, or even just a scrapbook of goodies you would like to purchase for yourself filled with the rather unsightly push pins of blue and yellow (or in my case, several cork boards filled with staples.) Pinterest allows you to create numerous digital boards where you can store those ideas/ pictures that you find anywhere on the web all in one place. Your friends or “Followers” can see your pins, comment, like, and repin. Right now, I have 9 boards ranging from clothing I want to own, recipes I wish to try, personal retreats, art I love, and innovative ways to revamp my herb garden. The possibilities are as wide and varied as your imagination allows.
So, for Thursday’s Tip/ Trend, I would like you all to flood the proverbial gates of Pinterest and create at least 3 boards of your own. Be sure to grab the ”Pin It” Button under “Goodies/About” which will allow you to pin any picture on any webpage directly to your own Pinterest boards from your own bookmark toolbar. And who knows, maybe by the end of the week, you will be able to find a link on our own blog to Pinterest.
Today’s article is brought to you by USA Today
NYC sewage plant to offer Valentine’s Day tours
The tour host and superintendent of the Newtown Creek Wastewater treatment plant in Brooklyn tells the Daily News it’ll be a unique date, and one that special someone will never forget.
Jim Pynn says the highlight of the tour will be the plant’s giant egg-shaped digesters, which break down the noxious waste into harmless sludge and gas.
Pynn says each Valentine’s Day visitor will get a Hershey kiss — and at least something to talk about.
Amber here with your Tuesday Tidbits again
