Friday Finds
Happy Friday, Dawn here again with your Friday Finds. Finding fun activities for the kids can sometimes be difficult. This summer I chose to go ahead and try the Live Butterfly Garden. My kids were always so interested in the commercials, and I will admit I was a little hesitant to buy something like this online. When I was a young girl I could always find caterpillars everywhere. I don’t see them as often as I did years ago and it has been a lot of fun for the entire family get this kit.
We received the habitat and caterpillars a couple days after the order was placed with livebutterflygarden.com.
I ordered the 10 pack of Caterpillars and all of them arrived alive. They sleep a lot and all they do is eat and sleep, which wouldn’t seem so interesting but how they all manage to live in a small jar for the week and half before becoming chrysalides.

We have butterflies at 3 weeks
We have 10 healthy butterflies that will be released soon when it warms up enough at night. The kids have enjoyed watching and feeding them daily. And this has been a fun learning experience and summer activity for the entire family. So much fun, that I don’t mind the fact that it appears we may have butterfly eggs at the bottom of the habitat. And when the weather permits the shipping of the lady bug kit, we will be trying that one.

how fun! I was thinking about ordering those for my kids. Allison keeps talking about wanting a catepillar and butterfly. My dad bought her a Ladybug thing last year, but I forgot to send off for the Ladybugs…oops

I always wondered about those things – I’ve even seen them in Walmart which freaked me out. Glad to know how they work!
