I remember the first time I ate a s’more. It was at a church group sleep-over with our Pastor’s wife and all the girls from my sunday school class. The pastor’s family had a large fireplace where we roasted the marshmallows, which I thought was treat enough, but then after the marshmallow was roasted they showed me how to press it between graham crackers with a wedge of chocolate. Wow! Who dreamed up that small slice of gooey deliciousness?! Needless to say, I’ve been hooked on s’mores ever since. It’s one of the small joys of summer!
Imagine my surprise when I came across suggestions for different kinds of s’mores - could they get any better? Well, I’ve tried a few, and they’ve been good, but I think my favorite is still good ol’ classic chocoate and marshmallow. What about you? Have you tried any s’more variations? My second favorite was using a peanut butter cup in place of the chococlate bar. Not bad, not bad. I’ve also tried apple slice and a drizzle of carmel . . . nice, especially in the fall! I now think that s’more variations are limited only by your imagination! Feel free to leave me some comments with s’more recipes that you’ve tried! Which ones are your favorite?
