Stitched Boarders Tutorial
Ambie here with your Tuesday Tidbits, Or as I am calling it today your Tuesday Tutorial! I am going to show you how to make a stitched border
Stitched Boarder
First things first go here and download the stiching brushes and install them into photoshop. Once you have installed brushes
Select Brush 47 and make it size 18.
Step One Open up your Photoshop, Open New and Make your size 850 by 315 (also the dimensions for Facebook cover photos)
Step Two Select your Paint bucket tool and select a color you want to make your background. I am going to Choose Green (feel free to choose any color you like)
Pour into your opened work area, Next create a new layer (blank layer do NOT duplicate the one already open) after doing this select another color in your color panel to use later ( I chose Hot Pink)
Step Three hit ctrl then click onto your green layer( make sure to click on the green area not the words) This will select your area another option is to make sure you are on your colored layer, and go to your tools at the top and click select then select all.
Next Step Four we go to Select, Contract (I did 20) then OK.
Now on your layer panel select the blank layer; hit the P on your keyboard to select your Pen tool. In your layer panel you can change from layers, channels and paths. I want you to select Path.
Now that we have made a working path I want you to Right click, Stroke Path, It is going to bring up another window, click the drop Arrow and select Brush and make sure that Stimulate Pressure is UN-checked then hit Okay. Click on the Path layer if already not selected and hit Ctrl+H which will hide the path layer or you can delete it. Now you will see your stitch.
Now this looks a little boring right? So we are going to add a drop shadow
I made my numbers 2,9 and 6 which made a decent drop shadow then i bevel and embossed. Style Emboss Technique Smooth Depth 15 direction Up, Size 4 Soften 0
Final Product
I hope my tutorial was easy to follow and you can all make your own stitched boarders now

Felt flower hair clips
Hiii, Amber here! This is my first ever blog post not just with Scrapping Artistry. I wanted to share this awesome tutorial with you all on how to make these precious felt flower hairclips. Photos are complements of my 7yr old daughter who I had to recruit to help me lol.
And here is your tutorial Enjoy
Felt Flower Hair Clips
What you need
Felt- color of your choice
Green felt for leaves
Snap clips
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Cd/dvd of your choice
( felt can be purchased at any craft store for about 25cents for 8×10 sheets, Walmart
Also carries felt but it cost a little more and they don’t have that good of a variety
To begin we are going to put our cd on the felt color of choice and cut a circle out around the cd/dvd.
Next we need to take our green felt and cut out a leaf shape for our flower
Once we have our circle of felt we are going to angle our scissors and start cutting into a spiral shape. Here is what it will look like when you start and when you are finished.
Next we are going to roll the felt starting with the outside piece like this and
This is what you end up with.
Now we need to hot glue the end of the spiral to the bottom of the felt flower like this
And next we glue the leaf onto the bottom.
Now put glue on the end of snap clip and glue it to the flower, cut a small piece of felt and with the clip open put the felt on the inside and glue the sides of felt to the flower
And here is your final product!
Randomness: My love of coupons
Hi guys! Cammi here. I am passionate about many things. My family, photography, scrapbooking, and most recently couponing! When I became pregnant with my fourth child, I decided to get serious about saving money. I signed up to follow some facebook blogs and attended a class to help point me in the right direction and teach me about the local store’s coupon policies. I learned a LOT and was ready to go! I started collecting coupons and started shopping. I couldn’t believe how much I started saving! In the first 4 weeks of couponing I got over $300 worth of products totally FREE! Most of my free shopping were at Walgreens and CVS. Both of those stores will give you reward bucks when you buy certain items. So I’d buy an item for $8, then get an $8 reward buck to use on a future purchase. Then the next time I’d use the $8 reward buck to purchase an item and get more reward bucks. So each week I’d end up using mostly reward bucks to purchase everything. Once I ended up getting $125 worth of Cover Girl makeup for only $15.
My favorite couponing website is Southern Savers . The site’s owner Jenny does a wonderful job of updating her site daily with all he local store’s deals. She breaks it down by stores, and does coupon match ups and links you to printable coupons. She really helps take all the work off you!
I probably spend about an hour a week sorting through my coupons, and planning my trips. I regularly save 50%-75% on my trips. Many times I get items for free or super cheap. And I don’t buy anything I wont use, unless I plan on donating it. I recently sent 72 disposable razors to some soldiers overseas that I had received free with coupons.
This week I’m excited about Downy Unstopables I’ll be getting for $1.99 at Harris Teeter, and the Bounce Dryer Bar I’ll be getting around $0.49. I’m completely hooked on the smell of Unstopables and they retail for $7.00. So this is definitely a stock up price!
Here are my favorite websites to visit with coupon tips.
And here is where I go to print coupons!
Feel free to share you favorite savings sites and tips on how you save!
The importance of backing up your drives!
Hey guys, Cammi here! A couple of years ago, I learned the hard way why it’s important to back your files up in places other than your hard drive. My computer crashed, and I lost all my photos from 6 months time. Most of them I had printed already, so I was able to have them that way at least. After that I began copying them to CD. Only a couple of years after that I realized my CD’s were beginning to get scratched up, and I could no longer open the files. So maybe that wasn’t the best option either. Last year I bought an external hard drive to back up all my photos. I had portrait sessions from my business, pictures of my kids, and all my scrapbooking kits and pages. SCORE! (I thought.) I found out a few months into having an external drive that they indeed crash as well. Fortunately I didnt learn it the hard way. People on my message board strongly suggested an online backup company. I researched a few to see what would back up an external drive, and finally found Backblaze . Backblaze was the #1 online backup company that would back up external drive. And it’s so cheap! Only $5/month. So I paid for it, and started the process. BOY was it slow. But I had over 100G to back up!
Last week my external drive crashed. Literally. My toddler pulled it off the desk and it shattered to pieces. My husband has not been able to get it to work. It gives and error code that online techies say means it’s broke and can’t be fixed. The last three years of our lives were on that drive! the births of two babies, thousands of dollars in scrapbooking kits. Home videos. EVERYTHING. I am sweating bullets as I sign into Backblaze. Fortunately, it had uploaded ALL my photos. That was the part I was most worried about, as I am a slacker and haven’t printed anything out from 2010-current. However, it hadn’t gotten around to backing up my scrapbooking kits. (my fault cause I had disconnected the drive and had it on another computer). So yeah, I’m out a thousand bucks or so, but I still have my pictures!
So my advice to you all is do not wait to back up your stuff. Don’t learn the hard way. Whether you back up on CD, DVD, online, USB etc save your photos/important documents in more than one place. You’ll be so thankful you did!
Tuesday Randomness-Speed Scrap..
Happy Tuesday bloggers Kara here, I hope Monday treated you well. Did you get the chance to read our blog yesterday, and see the yummy Monday meal that was posted? Another recipe I must try, I must say I am becoming quite the cook with all these delicious meals! Random Tuesday: Photo book deal!
Hey guys! Cammi here. So, for the past several years I’ve been using AdoramaPix to print my photos, and I always encourage my friends and family to do the same. They have amazing quality, super fast processing, they are inexpensive and have the best customer service. However, I had always printed my photo books elsewhere. I felt that they were too expensive. (They’re books were more expensive than competitors, even though print purchases weren’t). But in the early part of 2010 they ran a special and I decided to make a book to see how it was. WOW. I swore then I would NEVER get another book from anyone else! The quality was AMAZING. Their pages were made of board, almost like a kids’ board book. There were no paper pages that would fade, like the books I used to buy. I can’t even try to express my love of that book!
Here are a few pictures of my book.
And here’s the best part! For the next two weeks, Adoramapix is selling their 14 page 8×8 book for $11.95! For a while, they were also giving a $10 photo credit to all new customers. I’m not sure if they are still doing that, but if they are you can get a high quality photo book for just 1.95! It’s perfect for your scrapbook pages. I’ve ordered several that way for my scrapbook pages instead of printing them on individual pages. I encourage you all to give them a shot and comment back with your review!
Totally Random Tuesday
Wow, I must say it has been some time since I have blogged. Kara here, last month was super crazy, after spending Thanksgiving in the hospital, not getting out until the end of December, and then BAM Christmas was here. Whew, I needed a breather! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!
So over my little break a friend of mine introduced me to Hair Chalk for girls. Vicky of Digiscrap Depot is now an inventor, and she came up with this safe, and fun idea. I have yet to try it, because I haven’t been able to go buy any, but if you have ever wanted your hair to have some colorful highlights, then you need to check this out. Go to THIS site and read all about it. I can not wait to buy some and do my hair!! There ya have it, something fun and random for our awesome blog readers. I hope y’all have a good evening, and until next time….
